Facebook continues to shape its idea of becoming a video platform at the height of YouTube, and an important point when it comes to attracting creators is the ad system. And it is necessary to take into account that these are the ones that allow to have later economic compensations for the videos that are uploaded to the social network.
Facebook said today that it will start allowing ads to be shown for the first time as advertising breaks in the midst of prerecorded videos. The social network will also expand its live video monetization tests, and now celebrities and brands will be able to include short breaks on their pages.
This way, on the one hand, in videos that have already been recorded before, not only will they be able to show ads before showing the playback, but the creators will also be able to choose to put these pauses in the middle of the reproductions. At the moment it will only be a test that will be accessed by a limited number of publishers.
This way, when Facebook launches its application for televisions and its own content, this will be able to have announcements throughout the video offering an experience more similar to the one of the conventional television. And hopefully Facebook, in an attempt to attract more creators and advertising agencies, insert more monetization systems through ads in the coming months, although we assume that this will depend on the reaction of users.
Ads on live broadcasts
On the other hand, they are going to be expanding the tests that allow to make announcements in the middle of the live retransmissions so that more creators can use them. It will only apply to pages with more than 3,000 followers and during retransmissions that are being watched by 300 or more users, and the ads will be only 20 seconds. They can only be inserted from the 4 minutes of emission and in intervals of 5 minutes.
With regard to this type of ads, you have to admit that they have a practical component quite useful. For example, if you are doing a live broadcast with hundreds of people watching you and suddenly you have to go to the bathroom, you can press a button and introduce a small advertising break to do what you have to do quickly. Well applied and explained to your followers would not have to be something negative.
