Getting out and enjoying the countryside is a great thing to do at the end of a long winter. In Ireland there are many beautiful natural places to explore, and Gorey is the perfect place to base yourself. There are plenty of local facilities from shops like Vodafone Gorey to bars and restaurants. Here are just a few places where you can go to enjoy the natural beauty…
Kilgorman Strand – Head to the beautiful beach of Kilgorman strand. If you want to enjoy a beach that is far from crowded where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of being by the sea then this is the place to go. There are also nearby woodland areas to explore so you can really enjoy the calm of nature.
Ballyfad Wood – This is a beautiful woodland trail to enjoy at any time of the year, but in the spring you will see the blooming of many new flowers as well as the many trees that make up this mature woodland. In late spring, there is a section of woodland that is designated as a bluebell walk, which is popular with children hoping to see the fairies.
Tara Hill – This is a walk that is well worth the views. There are two different trails that you can follow to get to the top, and you can see for miles around once you are there, as well as the ancient Cairn at the top. On a clear day it is possible to see Mount Snowdon in Wales from here!
